Alex Burns

Alex Burns is a climate and environmental justice activist with extensive experience in legislative advocacy, policy research, and grassroots organizing. Alex leads efforts to equitably decarbonize transportation and reimagine urban land use to put people first. Previously, Alex worked as an outreach specialist promoting sustainable commuting options and as a national park ranger leading public programs about the ecological and cultural history of the Mississippi River. He has also managed political campaigns and built coalitions for clean transportation and reparative justice initiatives. In his free time, Alex enjoys hiking, biking, and walking his cat.
