This past weekend, residents of the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood celebrated Imagine Cedarfest, a block party where attendees could ride a camel, climb the Southside Battle Train, and watch a wiener dog race. Additionally, neighbors gathered to learn about Twin Cities Boulevard and the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Rethinking I-94 project.
The day was pure joy activism. Centered around uplifting the assets of the neighborhood, families could enjoy food, live music, and fun, but also learn about a critical once-in-a-generation opportunity to reconnect Cedar-Riverside to Seward.
In the same week, the Minneapolis City Council Climate and Infrastructure Committee passed a resolution advancing the goals of the Twin Cities Boulevard campaign. Next Thursday, it will go to full council for a vote. Supporters of a highway-to-boulevard conversion will be able to attend and support the resolution authored by Councilmembers Robin Wonsley, Jamal Osman, and Katie Cashman.
Minneapolis City Council Meeting: I-94 Resolution

We’d love to have you there to show support.
