The Minnesota Department of Transportation will hold the next Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting for the Rethinking I-94 project on Monday, September 26 from 1:30 – 3:00 PM.
9/30 UPDATE: Missed the meeting? Here is a full recap.
The Policy Advisory Committee is composed of project staff as well as elected officials from along the corridor. This group encompasses the key decision makers for the Rethinking I-94 project. This is the first PAC meeting since the Twin Cities Boulevard campaign launched in February 2022. The public is allowed to attend the meeting virtually.
Toward the end of the meeting, there will be a 30 minute long public comment period where members of the public can speak for up to two minutes. This is an important opportunity to demonstrate community support for the Twin Cities Boulevard and to call on decision makers to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to repair I-94’s harms.

We will follow up with the virtual meeting link as well as suggested talking points. You can also directly register for the meeting here.
During the PAC meeting, MnDOT and the Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) are expected to unveil amended versions of the Purpose & Need documents for the Rethinking I-94 project. These documents determine the goals for the project and how the different alternatives will be evaluated.
In October of 2021, Our Streets MPLS and 27 other community organizations sent a letter to MNDOT and the FHWA calling on them to revise the project’s Purpose & Need documents, which would have all but ensured that the highway would be rebuilt. Click here to read that letter and learn more and the Purpose & Need documents.
Once the amended Purpose & Need documents are made public, we will assess the changes and post our response.
